Prep before you film
Switch lights on, tidy walkways, and open wardrobes, cupboards and drawers that contain items you’ll move — it speeds things up and avoids missed items.
Start outside & show access
Film street/driveway, parking space, width restrictions, any permits needed, distance from vehicle to door, steps/ramps, lifts and tight corners. Do this for both current and new addresses if possible.
Room-by-room walk-through
If you can, film in one continuous pass. Include every room, hallway, loft/attic, cellar, garage, shed and garden items. Show the space we’ll carry items through — not just the items.
Call out special items
Pan slowly over pianos, safes, large TVs, American-style fridges, fish tanks, glass cabinets, gym equipment, artwork or antiques. Mention if items need dismantling or special care.
Boxes & extras
Show packed boxes (or estimate how many you’ll pack), outdoor furniture, planters, trampolines, bikes, BBQs, and anything in loft eaves or under-stairs storage.
Tip: Landscape video (held sideways) and slow panning make details easier to see. If you can, keep each clip under 2 minutes and send multiple clips.
